Nieves and Chase talk about the time they worked with Keir Dullea, the star of 2001, and his incredible memory.

"Cool. So this time that we worked Keir Dullea, the main actor from 2001, and it was really cool. It was only a couple of days, but, um, but he was so, so nice. He was very old already . I think he might be in his seventies, eighties, but he was so, so sweet, and, and he actually did this uh monologue that he memorized back then for the movie, like, like a super technical and super I don’t know spacecraft monologue.
Long. Really long.
With a lot of very specific terms, and nobody knew what they meant. But he memorized that. He was like saying all that monologue, and he kept going for like two three minutes saying that like perfectly. And he’s like, “Yeah, I had to memorize it so hard, ‘cause I didn’t understand all the terms, so I had to literally learn it by heart. And then, apparently Kubrick never made it into the final edit. So…
And yet, what, 50 years later he still knows it. That’s crazy.
50 years later he still remembers it, and it never made it into the movie.
